the power of music and emotion

Last night while I was falling asleep, I decided to play some calm, happy, music in order to settle my restless and nervous nerves. It worked wonders. Before I knew it I was immersed in a dream that I have transcribed below... It is very cheesy I know, but I ask for your respect, seeing as I worked up the nerve to post it:

"I dream that lie upon a golden English plain, the sun is setting over the endless rolling hills of lavender grasses. I take a moment and fill my lungs to capacity, then breathe, breathe it all out. Lying next to me is the girl. She gently crooks her head in my direction and releases a pleased smile. I simply stare back at her, unable to comprehend the beauty surrounding me. My chest is filled to the brim of love, happiness, and excitement. We don't posses a care in the world, just the two of us. At this moment I am completely happy, I close my eyes drift back into a perpetually calming state of sleep."

The playlist I had on is filled with softer rock from the summer, consisting of Guster, Death Cab for Cutie, and Coldplay. While doing my homework this afternoon, I decided to play the songs again. My stress seemed to melt away with memories of summer filling my head. After finishing my math in record time, I entered a blissful mood, and just had to write this post down. No task seems too daunting at this moment, I may just go climb a mountain! Perhaps Mt. Homework..... hehehe.

I love dreams like that! They always make me feel so rested when I wake up. Then I think about it the rest of the day and it keeps me happy :)

Nice, Derek. Of course that's going to be your question. XD

I think I should try listening to music like that, I've been having way too much stress and I've not been sleeping well at all. Maybe it'd help. Thanks for the idea! :)
